Seasonal Gulf cuisine, open kitchen,
rooted in place — reimagined.
Sufra is Arabic for the cloth laid before a meal — the act of gathering, of generosity, of time suspended. We opened in Sharq not to recreate the past but to honour its intelligence: the long-simmered stock, the hand-ground spice, the patience of a proper machboos.
Every plate is authored by a kitchen that sources from Gulf waters, the Jahra farms, and the spice traders of Mubarakiya. The menu shifts with season and catch. The service moves like a well-rehearsed conversation — never intrusive, always present.
"The memory of a meal is the only archive that matters."
— Chef Nasser Al-Mufarrej, Sufra Kitchen
"Every dish begins
as memory — and
ends as one."
